Rio Ferdinand

Rio Ferdinand is a former English soccer player who played as a central defender for top-flight clubs such as Manchester United and the England national team. Born in 1978 in Peckham, London, Ferdinand had a successful career in professional soccer. Ferdinand began his career at West Ham United and later moved to Leeds United, before joining Manchester United in 2002. During his time at Manchester United, he won numerous Premier League titles and the 2008 Champions League.

Ferdinand was known for his defensive solidity and leadership qualities on the pitch. He was a tough but intelligent defender, who was able to read the game and anticipate opponents' attacks.
