Emma Raducanu

Emma Raducanu is a British tennis player of Romanian and Chinese descent. In 2021, at 18 years and ten months and ranked world number 150, she won her first career Grand Slam title at the US Open in her fifth overall appearance on the major circuit. Thanks to this success, Raducanu breaks numerous records: she becomes the first tennis player ever to succeed in the feat starting from the qualifiers, the youngest female tennis player to win a Major since Maria Sharapova's triumph at Wimbledon 2004 and the first British female tennis player to winning a Slam after Virginia Wade in 1977.

A few weeks earlier, at Wimbledon she had reached the round of 16, becoming the youngest British tennis player in the Open era to reach the round of 16 in the London Slam, in her first participation. In 2022, she enters the world's top ten for the first time. At the end of 2023, after a series of terrible performances and three surgeries in the spring, she left the WTA top-100: her return to the court is scheduled for 2024.
