Marc Lopez reassures everyone about Rafael Nadal's condition

The presence of Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon was not so obvious after the victory of the Roland Garros. The Majorcan, in the last Parisian press conference, had in fact revealed in no uncertain terms everything he had to do to be competitive during the second Grand Slam of the year.

Nadal underwent a large number of injections to the nerve of his foot to avoid pain. The Spaniard then resorted to a new treatment capable of having the same effects as the injections with a longer duration. Thanks to the effectiveness of this last expedient, Nadal will have the opportunity to play his chances on the lawns of the All England Club.

Marc Lopez on Rafael Nadal: "He's fine"

The 22-time Grand Slam champion will face Francisco Cerundolo in the first round and could later give life to an interesting match against Sam Querrey if he wins on his debut. The first seed on his path bears the name and surname of Lorenzo Sonego.

The main suspects to reach the round of 16 and quarter-finals in the same portion of the board as Nadal are Marin Cilic, Botic van de Zandschulp, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Daniel Evans. Finally, the candidates to gain access to the semi-finals of the lower part of the main draw are Stefanos Tsitsipas, Denis Shapovalov and Matteo Berrettini.

Marc Lopez, new member of Nadal's team, spoke about the current condition of his player. "This surface is unforgiving. Things are evolving quickly, but at the moment the report is positive, "Lopez said in words gathered by the EFE news agency.

“The main concern was his foot, but things are going well. We have to adapt to different situations during training. Rafa played very well in his first exhibition match. He will be ready for Tuesday's game. We are trying to make him feel more and more at ease on the grass, because he hasn't played on this surface for two years."
