Who is Miroslava Federer? Everyone knows her as the wife of the best tennis player of all time, the Swiss Roger Federer, but little is known about Mirka's past. She is not very interesting to the media, she doesn't wear some provocative dresses and outfits, she doesn't wear make-up, she doesn't show off expensive jewelry, watches, handbags, she doesn't hang out with the elite, she is modest and therefore mostly stays under the radar of sensationalist media and tabloids.
At one time, even some famous world media criticized her for her appearance, noting that she did not look like the wife of a top athlete, which is of course very ugly from the media. We say in due time because Mirka is today one of the most important people in the world of tennis.
But who exactly is Mirka Federer? She was born on April 1, 1978, as Miroslava Vavrincova, and until her second year, she lived in her native Czechoslovakia, before moving to Switzerland two years after her birth. What many do not know or have already forgotten, Mirka was a top tennis player at the end of last and the beginning of this millennium.
She received the racket as a nine-year-old girl at the urging of the famous Martina Navratilova.
Mirka Federer and Roger Federer
Unfortunately, she only reached the 76th place in the WTA rankings because she was prevented from further progress by injuries.
However, she competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. And there she met her future, four years younger, wife Roger Federer. Interestingly, before entering into a relationship with Roger, Mirka was engaged to a sultan. However, in 2009 Mirka and Roger got married at an intimate ceremony in Basel.
They still keep their lives out of the public eye and are one of the most exemplary couples, they have no affair, and they have four children, twins daughters Myla and Charlene, and boys Lenny and Leo. The only time they came into the spotlight as a couple was when Federer had a conflict with Stanislas Wawrinka over Mirka.
Namely, it was in 2014 when Mirka, during the match between her husband and Wawrinka, threw and provoked Wawrinka from the stands, which disturbed him, so he later publicly called her out and quarreled with Roger. Today, Miroslava Mirka Federer is a role model for all the wives of athletes, every match cheers Roger from the stands with great enthusiasm, and that is obviously a good recipe because Federer is the owner of as many as 20 Grand Slam titles.
