Alexander Zverev had a great season and he finished in an impressive way. The trophy of the final masters is in his hands, as he defeated Daniil Medvedev in the final in two sets - 6: 4, 6: 4. The player who won against the first tennis player in the semifinals and the second tennis player in the world in the finals absolutely deserves the trophy.

Zverev did that, so for the second time in his career, he lifted the cup of the last tournament of the season. Although he did not manage to reach his first Grand Slam trophy this year either, Zverev will have something to remember in 2021.

He won Olympic gold in Tokyo, two master's tournaments (Madrid and Cincinnati), so he raised cups in Acapulco and Vienna and all sweetened with great triumph today in Turin. It is equally important for Zverev that he broke the black series in duels with Medvedev because he has lost to him five times in a row in the last two years.

Service

The key to today's victory was in the service. The German of Russian origin had an extraordinary initial kick, he did not allow the Russian on the other side of the net any break chance from the beginning to the end.

Zverev took the service away from the rival in the first set at 1: 1, he had another chance later, but he did not use it. In that first set, Medvedev only reached 40:30 once! The second set started with a break made by Zverev, and that was an advantage that the second tennis player in the world failed to reach.

Once, only Medvedev reached 40:40, but Alexander managed to repel that attack and bring the match to an end. With this victory, Zverev also managed to approach Medvedev, 800 points behind on the Atp list. His first goal for next season will be to skip the Russian.

He played extraordinary tennis, beat the best tennis player in the world, and advanced to the finals of the final Masters in Turin. For the fourth time, Alexander Zverev defeated Novak Djokovic in their 11th clash, and then, after the match, he paid tribute to the greatest of all time.

"There is no one in the world who deserves more respect than Novak Djokovic. Where did he come from, what did he achieve ... He is the greatest tennis player of all time and I think people sometimes forget that. I think everyone should appreciate that,"the second finalist of the last ATP tournament of the season concluded.
