US Open 2021: Naomi Osaka and Tsitsipas eliminated!

In the 3rd round of the US Open 2021 women's singles, Naomi Osaka falls again, incredibly, against the less predictable opponent. The young Japanese star, who is going through a really dark period in her career, 7-5 6-7 4-6, hoping for the impossible despite an initial set of advantage and the tie-break of the second set.

In the press conference Osaka said that now she needs a break from tennis, to recover the psychophysical energies of the last troubled months. In the men's singles, in one of the most spectacular matches of the tournament so far, the young Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, for many the spiritual and national heir of Rafael Nadal, eliminated Stefanos Tsitsipas in 5 exciting sets, beating the Greek with the final score of 6-3 4-6 7-6 0-6 7-6.

After all the controversy following the match won against Andy Murray, evidently the pressure was too much to handle for Tsitsipas, who missed the crucial moments of the match. In the other matches, wins came Daniil Medvedev, Barbora Krejcikova, Garbine Muguruza, Angelique Kerber and Simona Halep.

US Open 2021: Novak Djokovic and Ashleigh Barty to the 3rd round!

In the 2nd round of the US Open 2021 men's singles, world no.1 Novak Djokovic continues his triumphal march towards the final one that could give him the Grand Slam and the record of victories in the Majors tournaments (he won 20 Slams, like Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal).

The Serb beat Tallon Griekspoor in straight sets, for 6-2 6-3 6-2, showing an incredible level of psycho-physical fitness and qualifying for the 3rd round of the New York Slam. In the next round Nole will meet the Japanese Kei Nishikori in a super match.

In the 2nd round of the men's singles, Alexander Zverev defeated the German Albert Ramos-Vinolas with the final score of 6-1 6-0 6-3, showing an enviable state of psychophysical shape, despite the off-the-court problems related to the alleged mistreatment of former girlfriend Olga Sharypova, qualifying for the 3rd round.

In the 2nd round of the women's singles, world no.1 Ashleigh Barty qualified for the 3rd round of her Flushing Meadows Slam thanks to her victory in straight sets over Clara Tauson. The Australian seed no.1 won the challenge with the final score of 6-1 7-5, showing some slight problems only in the second set.

Canadian young star Bianca Andreescu win again. This time, the winner of the 2019 edition (year of the drama-final against Serena Williams), she beat the American Lauren Davis in straight sets with a double 6-4. Anyway, despite the victory and access to the 3rd round of the New York Slam, she still does not seem in the optimal shape to be able to scare opponents like Ashleigh Barty or Naomi Osaka.

In the other matches, wins came for Matteo Berrettini, Denis Shapovalov, Karolina Pliskova, Belinda Bencic, Iga Swiatek and Angelique Kerber
