The best Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov won the title at the tournament in Brisbane for the second time in his career, marking a triumphant return to the winner's circle. The popular player, affectionately known as Grisha, secured a 7:6 (5), 6:4 victory in a tough final against Holger Rune after a tense battle that lasted two hours and 19 minutes.

Rune offered strong resistance, responding to almost all obstacles during the match, but the nuances decided the winner. The win marked Dimitrov's ninth career title and second in the vibrant city of Brisbane, with his previous victory dating back to 2017.

Ranked 14th in the world, Dimitrov showed his skills throughout the tournament, defeating formidable opponents such as Andy Mario, Daniel Altmeier, Rinki Hijikata and Jordan Thompson en route to the final showdown.

Great fight for every ball

The last clash between Dimitrov and Rune was their third meeting, and the Bulgarian emerged victorious for the second time.

The match showed Dimitrov's resilience, especially in the opening moments when he had two break points. Despite early challenges, both players failed to capitalize on opportunities in the seventh and eighth games, leading to a tense tiebreak.

Dimitrov took control, secured a 7:6 lead and eventually won the set. In the second set, Dimitrov performed more calmly. Although he faced some resistance in the third game of the marathon, he managed to convert a crucial break point in the seventh game.

Despite Rune's efforts to stay in the match, Dimitrov kept his composure. Although the opponent saved two match points in the ninth game, Dimitrov sealed the victory in the next game, closed the match and brought smiles to the faces of his fans, who were delighted.
