Novak Djokovic is rightfully the main topic in the world of tennis these days, both because of new records and because of some recently discovered achievements. All fans of the "white sport" know that in the race for the best player of all time, Novak Djokovic leads the number of Grand Slam titles (24), that the second is Rafael Nadal (22), but it is often pointed out that this "race is, in fact, still uncertain", because "Rafa is dominant almost identically to Novak".

Some time ago, fans of the popular Serb launched an interesting investigation. However, Novak's fans discovered that things are not exactly like that, and they achieved this by investigating how dominant one of the mentioned two was in certain seasons.

It is not easy to determine the "degree of dominance", so the number of times one of them was in the finals of all four Grand Slam tournaments, as the biggest competitions during one year, was taken as a parameter.

Nadal fans were certainly not satisfied with what they could hear

Novak Djokovic has more seasons in which he played in all four Grand Slam finals than Rafael Nadal has seasons in which he played in all semifinals of Grand Slam tournaments!

With all due respect to Novak and his fans, this is not something that can disparage Nadal, because regardless of the numbers, he belongs together with Djokovic among the greatest players ever. Namely, Djokovic had a year in which he played in the final matches for cups three times at the Australian Open, at Roland Garros, at Wimbledon, and at the US Open - in 2015, 2021 and 2023, while Nadal was in the semifinals all those four competitions were twice, in 2008 and 2019.

At the same time, the Spaniard has never once in his career managed to be a participant in all four Grand Slam finals in the same calendar year. Let's remind you, Novak Djokovic is now "on Rafa's" court, in Malaga, but not because of Nadal, but because the Davis Cup awaits him.

Regardless of the numbers, both tennis players are among the best tennis players of the 21st century as well as history.
