Mark Philippoussis, a former US Open and Wimbledon finalist, recently provided his insights into the distinctions between Novak Djokovic and his primary rivals, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. These two legends, alongside Djokovic, have been the triumphant triumvirate in world tennis for the past two decades.

Philippoussis, who had been a part of Stefanos Tsitsipas' coaching team until just two months ago, shared his perspective on how Djokovic has transcended his competitors. He emphasized the unwavering professionalism displayed by Nadal and Federer and acknowledged Djokovic's exceptional ability to elevate his preparation.

"No matter how professional you are like Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer, when you compete and make sure you come to the Grand Slams mentally and physically the most prepared, I think Novak took it to an even higher level.

And that's amazing," he opined.

Philippoussis believes that Djokovic will continue to be the leading contender for the Australian Open title

The Australian tennis veteran went on to marvel at Djokovic's fitness and preparation, particularly at the age of 36.

Philippoussis painted a vivid picture of Djokovic's work ethic and attention to detail. "It was amazing to watch him at the US Open. If he's on the practice court at 1 p.m., then he's already in the gym at 11. He comes to the court already sweaty.

He finishes the training, drinks his drinks, eats, and everything in a place where he should have been. I've never seen a professional like that. There weren't many amazing ones, but I've never seen it to the degree that Novak Djokovic does it," Mark added.

As for Djokovic's future, Philippoussis has no doubts. He firmly believes that Djokovic will continue to be the leading contender for the Australian Open title in the upcoming season. "Without a doubt he's the number one favorite for the Australian Open, and I don't see him slowing down any time soon," Filipousis concluded.

His remarks underscore Djokovic's unparalleled commitment to his craft, setting the stage for what promises to be an electrifying tennis season.
