Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz created a great match in the Wimbledon final. Nole won at the Roland Garros, Carlos triumphed in London, with the two putting on a show in a battle that lasted nearly five hours of play. Many compliments from Carlos to Nole and vice versa, with the Serbian almost incredulous for a performance by the Spaniard, especially after the first set.
Djokovic won 6-1 and for many it seemed to be the beginning of yet another victory for the Serbian but instead Carlos reacted well and achieved an extraordinary victory.
Novak Djokovic praises Alcaraz: "He is more complete than Federer and Nadal"
Djokovic praised his opponent a lot and spoke thus at the press conference: "I knew his level on clay, he grew up on those courts.
But I was surprised by his performance on grass, to tell the truth, he surprised everyone for how played on the grass. He didn't have many wins on grass and won both Queen's and Wimbledon. I think the victory at Queen's helped him a lot, he gained momentum and beat good tennis players.
Wimbledon courts are slower then and I think that helped, he's still playing fantastic tennis on all surfaces and deserves to be where he is." The comparison with the Big Three could not be missing and Nole has no doubts: "People have talked about it and it's true, he is a mix of me, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
I think he has taken all the best of us three, he has a resilience mental and really incredible maturity, it's pretty impressive. He has a Spanish mentality, that's kind of what we've seen with Rafa over the years. Federer and Nadal have strengths and weaknesses, he is complete.
An incredible ability to adapt, I think he will have a very long and successful career on all surfaces." Alcaraz is in his second career Grand Slam title but Nole is literally crazy for the Spanish champion's talent. Now the two stars will wait to face at the US Open.
