The world number one Iga Swiatek wins again. The Polish champion won the WTA Doha 2023 edition, literally leaving the crumbs to her opponent, the number two seed Jessica Pegula. A match without history with the Polish champion who left only three games in a very clear 6-3 6-0.
So, it came a victory for Iga which partially eliminates the disappointment for the clamorous elimination at the Australian Open, a match that saw her fall in the round of 16. At the end of the match, Iga spoke thus at the press conference: "The formula for success? I honestly don't know. I'm happy that I was able to adapt quickly to the new conditions, I'm even surprised by my results.
I finally found balance compared to the beginning of the season, I think this tournament will give me confidence. I want to go step by step and I'm happy to have won this final."

Iga also added: "This is definitely the tournament where I feel more comfortable and where I hit the ball better.
Maybe they're just different conditions and it's hard to compare. Lower expectations? I was incredible, in the end at the beginning of the tournament I decided to lower my expectations, I'm in difficult conditions but I've grown match after match.
I had a lot of fun and all this made me happy, I appeared very free-headed and the work with my coach and my staff paid off. Meditation? I meditate before the match, I don't think there is much time on the court to do it, so I use my techniques and in the meantime I think about other things avoiding difficult situations that could mess up my head.
Music also helps, I like to sing in my head, sometimes I listen to bands like AC/DC and Led Zeppelin before the match."
