McEnroe on Emma Raducanu: "You don't win a Grand Slam with luck"

With the victory of the Us Open 2021, the British tennis player Emma Raducanu turned the international scene upside down, surprising everyone and winning a Grand Slam tournament at a very young age. In a short time, Raducanu went from playing the qualifiers to the top and the tennis player did not control this sensational passage.

About a year and a half has passed since that day but Emma has never been able to repeat this exploit, almost always in difficulty, between physical problems and a game that is struggling to take off. The last twelve months have been nothing short of terrible and many are wondering the cause of this crisis which is not slow to end.

Former tennis player and legend of the sport John McEnroe spoke to Tennis 365 commenting on the tennis player's difficulties. Here are his words: "I think the last year has been really overwhelming for Emma. She went through a lot of changes and towards the end of last year but now she too has had to struggle with injuries.

At the last Australian Open I felt the pressure was not on her, but on her rival Coco Gauff and I think that's not bad for a tennis player like her."

McEnroe went on to comment on her situation: "Everyone in the tennis world hopes that she can accept what is happening and that she will be able to recover the level shown at those US Open.

I haven't seen her since the last Wimbledon and I must say that we were worried about the changes in her life and how Emma managed to deal with them". Finally McEnroe comments on the athlete: "We want to see her compete and get back to enjoying tennis to the fullest, this is what that we want to see.

Then I want to be clear, you don't win a Grand Slam tournament with luck, Emma is a great player and can go back to challenging all her rivals." Now the tennis player wants to return from the injury she recently suffered and Emma will return to the WTA 250 in Austin , 250 tournament but which will showcase several top athletes such as Magda Linette, Sloane Stephens or Alycia Parks. Emma can't wait to get back and show everyone how talented she is.
