Carlos Alcaraz: Everyone wants to beat me

Carlos Alcaraz gained great popularity in a short period of time. This young tennis player has become number 1, and his opponents are afraid of him. The Spaniard is aware of his popularity and enormous progress. Probably the whole year seemed like a dream to him, but persistence, talent, and work always come to the surface.
Alcaraz is optimistic for next year as well and expects to continue at the same pace. “I’ve had time to realise what I did, to look back on this amazing year and I still can’t believe it,” he said, as quoted by The National.
“A lot of things to enjoy from this year and now I need to try to do the same or better next season.
Next season is going to be different for me.
I’m not going to be one of the guys who is climbing up, I’m there, so this season will be a different mentality.
I have to be prepared to stay strong the whole year because I’ll be going to lots of tournaments as the favourite.
Everyone wants to beat me so I have to be prepared for that." The big three or four have been causing problems for the last few years.
Their dominance lasted for about 20 years, and now it seems that the end of era has come to an end. Carlos Alcaraz is happy about that, especially since he is one of those who 'stopped' the dominance of the big three. The Spaniard is one of the greatest talents, and his successes are not unexpected.
"For 20 years it’s always been the same players, the Big Four, always winning the biggest tournaments,” the Spaniard said.
“Right now, there are so many chances to win those tournaments and so many players have those chances.
I’m really happy to see a lot of tennis players that can compete at the top. There’s a really big group”.
Daniil Medvedev od Carlos Alcaraz
A few months ago, Daniil Medvedev spoke about Carlos Alcaraz and his self-confidence.
"When you have confidence from winning matches you are more of a favourite for a Grand Slam, but Carlos before the Us Open was not playing his best tennis and with the talent and game he has, he was able to do it,” Medvedev told Eurosport.
“That’s what I think about me.
I know I can play good tennis, I know I can beat anybody on a good day, and I know I am capable of winning Grand Slams because I did it against Novak [Djokovic] when he was going for the Calendar Slam [at the 2021 US Open].
