A fabulous week for Andrey Rublev. The number two of Russia, leaving only one set on his way, wins the Gijon tournament: in Spain, the victory against the American Sebastian Korda for 6-2, 6-3 guarantees him the twelfth title of the season, the fourth of the season.

Rublev said: "It looked like an easy draw on paper, but, if we look at my games, the feeling is that he could lose them all. A feeling that was there today: I was ahead, but Sebastian had break point. I was lucky that he failed to close the set 6-3.

The same story repeated itself in the second set, but I managed to get back into the match. " Gijon is Rublev’s fourth success out of four finals played this year: on indoor hard courts it is a streak of six tournaments, starting with the Moscow tournament in 2019.

Rublev added: "It's something I didn't know, but, of course, it's a great feeling to know that I've won six out of six tournaments. In general, winning a title is always a good feeling.

In Challangers, it was more finals I lost than in the one in which I won, and it hurt. On the ATP circuit it is luckily different. I hope it continues like this. I know that it is impossible for me to win everything and that I will lose some finals, but I hope that the positive balance continues.

" The Spanish stage is fundamental for Andrey Rublev in view of the last goal of the season: the ATP Finals in Turin: "Winning a title is always a special feeling, but winning this title is really important for me. Every week is important to me.

because I am fighting for the Finals. For me it would be very important to qualify for three consecutive years. It would be an incredible feeling to qualify, it is the tournament that players dream of playing. "
