The date of Rafael Nadal's return to the field is not yet official, but the Spaniard will almost certainly be one of the protagonists at the ATP Finals in Turin. The world number two is already qualified for the event and is undoubtedly aiming for the only major tournament of his career that he has yet to win.
Unless there are sensational twists, Rafa will return to the field as a father at the Masters 1000 tournament in Paris-Bercy, a tournament where he is registered as seed number two, immediately behind the young compatriot Carlos Alcaraz.
A fantastic 2022 that has yet to end for one of the best tennis players of all time.
Rafael Nadal expressed on becoming father
Nadal's 2022 was in some ways magical. The Spanish champion achieved great results on the court, returning early in the year from injury and winning two Grand Slam titles.
Nadal is now the tennis player with the most Grand Slam titles and no doubt he does not intend to stop but only a few days Rafa has obtained the greatest joy. On 8 October, as pointed out by his colleagues from Marca, his wife Maria Xisca Perello 'gave birth to their first child, also called Rafael Nadal.
Great news for the Spanish champion who has finally become a dad. They had not been easy months for Nadal and his wife since in recent months, during her pregnancy, Xisca was forced to undergo surgery due to a complicated pregnancy and for this reason Rafa had temporarily detached himself from the tennis world for this reason.
In the last few hours, however, Nadal wanted to greet and thank all the people who in recent days have spent a word for his paternity and especially his fans. Through his Twitter profile, the Iberian champion released a short but important message: "Hello everyone.
After a few days and so many loving messages I just wanted to thank you all. We are very happy and we are all fine. A hug."
