US Open: Stefanos Tsitsipas immediately eliminated!

Stefanos Tsitsipas has never been a monster of continuity, and the US Open 2022 confirmed it. The final in Cincinnati, however, told something different, for once. Instead, the 6-0 6-1 that Galan signs in just over forty minutes of play against the Greek talent in the central part of the day on Flushing Meadows hard concrete leaves little room for analysis.
Tsitsipas plays two horrendous sets, then tries to recover with a swipe of the tail, but does not find enough good weapons to definitively change the game in the fourth. Merits, and not a few, to Galan, who plays a simplistically perfect match, seasoned with 41 winners and 35 unforced errors, against an opponent at the mercy of himself who after 7-5 in the third set returns to fight against ghosts.
He finishes 6-0 6-1 5-7 6-4. A chasm opens up in the scoreboard side, also given the rather inconceivable misstep of Taylor Fritz, who loses the derby with Holt in four sets, a very good chance for Matteo Berrettini. He also recovered from the health walk in the early part of the day against Nicolas Jarry.
He ends as the most anticipated match of the day should end, the one between Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis. Obviously the finalist of the Championships wins, who despite some small worries in the third set (and a tie break) gets rid of one of his best friends with a very rocky 6-4 6-4 7-6 (4).
He fights but does not win: no surprise in the match between Pablo Carreno Busta and Dominic Thiem, with the twenty-twenty edition champion who only partially remedies a disadvantage of two sets to zero. More than a few recriminations for Lorenzo Sonego, who does not take advantage of a 6-2 6-1 advantage against John Millman.
The Turin-born, who between the third and fifth sets does not get a single chance to break, ends up remaining succumb to the full-strength tennis of the Australian tennis player, who seals the success at 6-2 6-4 6-4 later just over three hours of gameplay.
