Inter: Romelu Lukaku returns from Chelsea

Romelu Lukaku is about to leave Chelsea and return to Inter. The Belgian striker himself has tried in every way to return to the Milan club, supported by the sporting director Giuseppe Marotta. Signatures are still missing but now the most is done.

Lukaku is back on an expensive loan for 8 million plus bonuses a year after being sold to Chelsea for 115 million. Inter will take him by paying a salary of 8 million plus bonuses. Medical visits scheduled for next week then signing on the new contract.

Lukaku's last two seasons

He scores against the Rossoneri both January 26 in the National Cup (2-1) and February 21 in the league (3-0), becoming the only player in the history of the Milanese derby to score for 5 consecutive games in all competitions.

With 24 goals in 36 appearances in Serie A, his contribution is crucial for Inter's victory in the Scudetto, eleven years after the Nerazzurri's previous success. At the end of the season he was named best player in Serie A.

On 12 August 2021 he returns to Chelsea after eight years for 115 million euros, which make him the most expensive purchase in the history of Londoners as well as the most profitable sale ever for Inter and ever for a Serie A club.

He made his season debut ten days later in the 2-0 away win in the league against Arsenal, in which he also scored his first goal with the Blues shirt.
