Eric ten Hag resets Manchester United: Philipps, Anthony and Timber first targets

Manchester United have an agreement with Eric Ten Hag, and next week they should officially confirm the arrival of the Dutch expert at the end of the season. The Red Devils will pay compensation to Ajax and start with Ten Hag, who knows which new start and reconstruction of the team.

United have been without a title for almost 10 years since the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson retired. Various coaches of various styles have changed on the bench, such as David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskaer, and this season, Ralf Rangnick will be pushed out as a temporary solution.

Ten Hag has been chosen as a long-term solution and the club will have to meet some wishes and plans in a big reset of the playing staff. The Dutchman had broad powers in Ajax and in the negotiations he demanded that they be even bigger at Old Trafford.

First of all, it refers to the transfer policy. Ajax's coach will get rid of a few players, to begin with. Local media report that about ten players have been written off. For a start, those whose contracts expire are leaving: Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata, young Tahit Chong and fourth goalkeeper Lee Grant.

Players who are currently on loan do not have a future either. United hopes that Sevilla will buy Martial, and Napoli will buy Tuanzebe. Goalkeeper Dean Henderson, defender Eric Baily and Phil Jones are also on the transfer list.

It is also uncertain what kind of future awaits Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcus Rashford. Almost a third of the current team is at the exit door. ‘ One of the few who have not been satisfied so far and who will benefit from Ten Hag's arrival is midfielder Donnie van de Beek.

He is returning from a loan from Everton and will get a chance with the coach who launched him in Ajax.

Ten Hag and potential transfers

And through Van de Beek, there could be two more players who were affirmed by Ten Hag in Amsterdam.

Young defender Juriren Timber and Brazilian winger Anthony. Timber is a 20-year-old defender who has already become a standard member of the national team and who could strengthen the shaky United defense. Anthony is one of the discoveries of the season and he should finally bring speed to the right wing of the Red Devils.

Ten Hag wants both of them, and it is up to the club to provide them for him. However, the closest to signing for Manchester United is the English national team player Kalvin Phillips. Bringing the last midfielder is a priority for the giant from Old Trafford, since they did not bring a player to that position this summer.

Phillips has been on their radar for a long time and negotiations have already begun. The Leeds midfielder is an irreplaceable member of the starting lineup of the English national team and is a cheaper variant than Declan Rice from West Ham and Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.

Although both West Ham and Aston Villa are interested in Phillips, United is the absolute favorite because only they can pay around 60,000,000 euros as much as Leeds is asking for its national team player.
