Manchester City has option D

There is less and less time, there are about ten days left until the end of the transfer window, and Manchester City has no way of resolving the issue of another poor stopper. Pep Guardiola is determined to buy a partner for Emerick Laporte - Nathan Ake is obviously not designed for that position - and to that end he is sending offers to all parties.

Yesterday, we wrote in detail about that topic and the options of the Citizens, and in the meantime, a new one appeared. As the Italian transfer guru Fabricio Romano City reports tonight, he sent an official offer to Benfica for Ruben Dias (23).

He is a guy who has been in contact with the biggest European clubs for several years, but the Lisbon Eagles managed to convince him to extend the cooperation in 2019, after which his price jumped significantly. They are aware of that in Manchester City and that is why they immediately started with a strong offer - 55,000,000 euros plus Nicolas Otamendi.

Sevilla rejected an offer

It is literally the same offer that went to Sanchez Pishuan for Jules Kounde a few days ago. Sevilla has decided to reject it, and now we are waiting for the answer of the most trophy-winning Portuguese club.

Interestingly, the deal could be ruined by Benfica's big rival - Porto. Information has already emerged that Otamendi is in advanced negotiations with the Dragons, so if he refused to move to Luz (all on the condition that Benfica like this offer at all), City would find itself in trouble.

Let us remind you, Ruben Dias is Pep Guardiola's D option. The first was Khalid Koulibaly, then the English headed towards Jose Gimenez from Athletic, so that the previous attempt would be the one with Jules Kounde. It will be very interesting if City is rejected again.

In that case, Guardiola enters the time zone and will have to dramatically increase the offers. And then - who knows. We might as well get the new most expensive stopper in the world. No one would be surprised ... If they want to be in the race with Liverpool for the title, City will have to strengthen their defense as soon as possible, and they have less and less time for that.

The defense they currently have can hardly cope with stronger teams, and it is certain that Manchester City has ambitions to win the league this year and to finally try to grab the Champions League trophy.
