It seems that story about the possible departure of Paul Pogba from Manchester United is over. According to the respected L'Equipe, the French midfielder made the decision to extend his contract with the Red Devils and thus become one of the highest-paid players in the history of the Premier League.
Pogba's current contract at Old Trafford expires in July 2022, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, and Real Madrid have already shown open interest, but according to L'Equipe, the player's priority is to extend his contract with United, although he showed an open desire to leave the club.
However, just this summer, the club showed high ambitions by hiring aces such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Rafael Varane, and Jadon Sancho, which obviously influenced Pogba to look at the situation differently regarding his future in Manchester.
In addition to all that, the crisis caused by the current pandemic has significantly reduced the financial possibilities of many European clubs, but that is not the case with United, which is ready to richly reward its best players with lucrative incomes and bonuses.
Pogba currently earns 290,000 pounds (about 340,000 euros) a week, which is significantly behind Cristiano Ronaldo (510,000 pounds), and in the meantime, he was preceded by Kevin de Bruyne (400,000), David de Gea (375,000), Jadon Sancho 350,000), Rafael Varane (340,000), Romelu Lukaku (325,000), Jack Grealish (300,000) and Raheem Sterling (300,000).
At this moment, it is not known exactly how much the leaders of the Red Devils are ready to offer to the Frenchman, but it is clear that he would seriously approach the inviolable Ronaldo with bonuses. Pogba returned to Manchester United from Juventus in 2016, in a transfer worth 105,000,000 euros, after he was sent from Old Trafford in 2012 as a free agent to Turin and became one of the most wanted midfielders on the Old Continent.
Including matches, this season, the excellent midfielder recorded 208 appearances in official matches for the Red Devils and scored 38 goals. He has not signed up as a scorer this season, but he has the same number of assists in seven Premier League matches.
However, it is believed that after the announced extension of cooperation, he would reach complete peace and then use that situation to contribute even more to the success of the team in the coming period. After seven rounds of the Premier League, United is in third place with Manchester City, Everton, and Brighton, ie two points away from the leading Chelsea, so there is no doubt that one of the most exciting seasons in the last few years awaits us.
