Ronaldo: "I can't wait to play again at Old Trafford"

After all the formalities such as medical tests and defining personal conditions were completed, Cristiano Ronaldo officially became a new Manchester United player. The Portuguese footballer, upon his return to Old Trafford, signed a two-year contract with the option of an extension for another 12 months, and after arriving at the club from which he moved to Real Madrid in 2009, he did not hide his satisfaction.

"Manchester United is a club that has always had a special place in my heart and I was flooded with messages from Friday. I can't wait to play again at Old Trafford in front of a full stadium and see all the fans again."

"I look forward to joining the team after international games and I hope that a very successful season awaits us, "Ronaldo said in his first address after returning to the Red Devils.

The winner of five Golden Balls will cooperate in a well-known environment with his former teammate Ole Gunnar Soslkjaer, who is now the head of the United professional staff.

"There are not enough words to describe Cristiano. He is not only an outstanding player but also a great human being. To have the desire and ability to play at a top-level for such a long period, you need to be special."

"There is no doubt that he will continue to impress us. and his experience will be vital for the younger players on the team. Ronaldo's return shows the unique appeal of this club and I am absolutely delighted to be returning home from where it all started, "said the Norwegian.

Cristiano has won more than 30 major trophies so far, including five Champions League titles, four Club World Cups, seven Champions League titles in England, Spain, and Italy, and the European Championships with Portugal.

He was also the top scorer last season in Serie A and won a golden football boot at this year's European Championship. In his first term for Manchester United, he scored 118 goals in 292 games. Juventus will receive the agreed compensation of 15,000,000 euros in five annual installments, while United has committed to pay bonuses under certain conditions, for the duration of Ronaldo's contract.

The amount in question is a maximum of 8,000,000 euros and will depend exclusively on the games of the Portuguese ace. Juventus also announced that this deal leaves a deficit of 14,000,000 euros in the books for the financial year 2020/21.
