West Ham had a great season last year, they also fought for the Champions League, in the end, they had to be satisfied with the Europa League. A great result for a club that has tried unsuccessfully for years to reach the top half of the table (the best placement since 2016).
However, David Moyes was not rewarded with real reinforcements, in order to continue with good performances. That could change in the last days of the transfer period. According to the British Telegraph, the Hammers have 40,000,000 pounds for the new players until the end of the summer market (46,750,000 euros).
Everyone in the club wants Jesse Lingard to return, but Manchester United is hard on the market. The backup solution is the midfielder of CSKA Moscow, Nikola Vlasic. Lingard strengthened West Ham in January, few could have guessed that he would turn into Lionel Messi by the end of the season.
He played just amazing, without a doubt he was one of the best players in the league. This is evidenced by the fact that he scored nine goals in 16 appearances. Impressive. The great games in the capital did not completely convince Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Lingard returned to Old Trafford, started preparations with the club, played well in a couple of control matches, but in the first two rounds he collected only four minutes (against Leeds at the opening he was not even on the bench).
Despite that, United refused to let him go to West Ham. The impression is that they have different plans. Some media from England report that the management of Manchester United plans to offer him to the Hammers with money, for the representative midfielder Declan Rice.
And that's where the problem arises. West Ham does not want to release the 22-year-old midfielder. They ask for a minimum of 100,000,000 euros for his services and any different offer will be refused.
Stubbornness could come to both heads.
That is why the Hammers prepared "Plan B" If they do not convince United to release Lingard, they will turn to Nikola Vlašić. The Croatian midfielder left his homeland and the ranks of Hajduk Split four years ago.
He moved to Everton for 10,800,000 euros. He spent one season at Goodison, making 19 appearances and scoring two goals. He already did the next one on loan in Russia, only to be bought by CSKA next summer for 15,700,000 euros.
He exploded in a CSKA jersey. In a short time, he became the main player of the team and one of the biggest stars of the Russian championship. He is also a regular in the first team of the Croatian national team lately, for which he collected 28 appearances with six goals scored.
That is how he attracted the attention of numerous European clubs. It is no secret that Milan sees him as a replacement for Hakan Chalhanoglu. However, the Rossoneri cannot meet the demands set by CSKA- Vlasic's price is 30,000,000 euros.
Zenit offered 5,000,000 less and it seemed that they would force the management of the great rival to give in and accept it, due to the increasingly complicated financial situation in the club. Now, West Ham has entered the story, which apparently has quite enough money to buy him from CSKA.
There is no doubt that Vlašić would welcome the opportunity to return to the Premier League with open arms and prove that he deserves to be a member
