Benitez completed three transfers: Gray, Begovic and Townsend

According to the English media, Everton is preparing the first three reinforcements for the next season. The team led by Rafa Benitez from this summer should soon become stronger for the experienced goalkeeper Asmir Begović, while former Leicester player Demarai Gray and former Crystal Palace player Andros Townsend are on their way to sign for the club from Liverpool.

Everton surprised many when they appointed Rafa Benitez to the position of the head coach instead of Carlo Ancelotti (he returned to Real). For many years, the Spanish expert led the angry rival of the club from Goodison - he also won the Champions League with Liverpool - so many were surprised when he accepted Everton's offer.

Benitez started slowly with forming the team for the upcoming season, and as things stand for the first three reinforcements, the club will have to set aside only 1,750,000 euros. They will not pay for the transfer of Asmir Begović, as Bournemouth gave permission to an experienced network keeper from Bosnia and Herzegovina to negotiate with interested parties.

Begovic, Gray, and Townsend

The former goalkeeper of Stoke, Chelsea, and Milan is already undergoing medical examinations, and his official presentation at Goodison Park is expected soon. Everton will also not have to pay for Andros Townsend.

His contract with Crystal Palace has expired and he has been a free agent since June 1. The experienced winger is 30 years old, he managed to get his career back on track at Crystal Palace, but he did not reach an agreement with the Eagles about new cooperation.

Now, apparently, he will continue his career under the leadership of Rafa Benitez at a club with clearly greater ambitions. As for Gray, he arrived at Bayer Leverkusen from Leicester in January for only 2,000,000 euros. The reason for the low compensation is the fact that his contract with Foxes expired.

However, he did not play at the BayArena, it seems that he is not in the plans of the new coach of Pharmacist Gerardo Seoane, and considering that his cooperation with the German club expires in a year, Everton will not have to set aside big money for his services.

According to the media in England, Bayer will be satisfied with the sum of 1,750,000 euros. So, there is an alternative for Jordan Pickford in the form of Begović, while Gray and Townsend will increase the competition on the wings, considering that Bolasie (without a contract) and Theo Walcott (Southampton) left the team.
