Barcelona will not have enough money for Messi's salary

Uefa has its own financial fair play, the Spaniards their own. The regulations are clear, each club has a limited salary limit, dependent on income, and the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic has hit Barcelona's coffers hard.

So much so that the big question now is whether the Blaugrana will manage to keep Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou stadium. The authorities have already told Barça - there is no compromise. Well, Catalan Sport writes today that Joan Laporta realized that there is no other option: he may have to sell Antoine Griezmann.

Revenues from the sale of Junior Firpo (15,000,000), Jean-Clair Todibo (8,500,000), and Konrad de la Fuente (3,000,000) are nowhere near enough to fill the budget for a new contract for Messi

Departure

It is not disputed that he wants to stay, only Barcelona now has no money to offer him something concrete.

They don't have enough money to register Sergio Aguero, Memphis Depay, and Eric Garcia. Even if they sell Samuel Umtiti and Miralem Pjanić - it is not enough. They'll have to do more. And that is why there is more and more talk about the departure of Antoine Griezmann because he could really bring serious money.

If no buyer is found - there would be a problem around Messi. Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City are aware that Messi wants to stay, but they are lurking on the sidelines. With Leo, Depay and Aguero - Griezmann is not necessary.

The problem though is finding that buyer. And it's not the only problem. Moreover, they just pile up. Matheus Fernandes, with whom Barça unilaterally terminated his contract, also appeared today. He is now suing Barcelona and asking to be compensated.

He is asking for - 15,000,000 euros as much as he would have earned if he had stayed at the club. There seem to be more and more problems in Barcelona. Many thought that the arrival of Laporta would solve most of the problems, but it seems that it will not be easy.

The biggest problem and concern of most fans is Messi's contract that has expired. Barcelona will try in various ways to balance everything and offer him a new contract, but they will have to make an effort and think carefully about what is best for them.

Messi certainly wants to stay and continue his career in Barcelona, but there is more and more talk about his departure
