Guardiola has a wish list: Romelu Lukaku is first on the list

After spending 172,000,000 euros on signing Ferran Torres, Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake, and a new tour of talented kids, including Serbian talent Filip Stevanovic, Manchester City has decided not to spend a cent this winter and prepare as much as possible for the summer transfer market in whose goal is to find a long-term successor to Sergio Aguero, but also to buy a new standard left-back and defensive midfielder.

For that occasion, Pep Guardiola will receive a dizzying 250,000,000 euros! According to reports from England, the largest portion of that money will be set aside for the purchase of a new center forward. The new transfer of astronomical proportions will happen regardless of whether Kun Aguero stays in Manchester City after the flight or not.

They have started planning the future in City without one of the two best players in the club's history - the other is David Silva - and they think that this summer is an ideal opportunity to open the next chapter. Aguero's contract with City expires in the summer, but it is not yet known whether the two sides will agree on new cooperation or will part in a friendly tone.

If Aguero wants to stay, he will reportedly have to give up half of his current weekly salary of 300,000 euros! At one time, the idea was for Aguero's successor to become Gabriel Jesus, but the Brazilian has problems with injuries too often, although it turned out that he was not the class to succeed the best scorer in City's history.

That is why Pep Guardiola has already prepared a shortlist of candidates, which includes three names - Romelu Lukaku, Erling Haaland, and Darwin Nunez. At the Etihad, they highly appreciate Lukaku's football qualities, which is why they are seriously considering an offensive on his signature.

The strong Belgian is bound by a strong contract for Inter until June 2024, which means that the City would have to pull the snake out of their pocket if they want to get his signature. Lukaku has been reborn since he moved from Manchester United in August 2019 for the amount of 74,000,000 euros.

This season alone, he scored 17 goals in 22 games in all competitions, with three assists, and in the Nerazzurri jersey, he has already collected 51 goals in 73 appearances and is the player who fastest reached 50 goals. Even faster than Ronaldo Phenomenon.

During his stay at Manchester United, he went through very bad periods with Jose Mourinho and especially Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and football critics in England regularly said that he was a few extra pounds and that he could not keep up with the pace of the Premier League.

Although he was paid almost 85,000,000 euros to Everton, he had 42 goals in 96 games. On one occasion, he admitted that he was relieved when he left Manchester and that he found a new life at Inter.
