Moussa Dembele signed for Atletico Madrid

In parallel with the official arrival of Islam Slimani, Lyon announced on the official club website the departure of longtime striker Mousa Dembele, who is opening a new page in his career at a new address - Vanda Metropolitano Stadium!

The French striker has made an official transfer to Atletico Madrid in a job from which Lyon could extract as much as 40,000,000 euros! As it was announced, Atletico set aside 1,500,000 euros for a six-month loan, while in the summer they will have a purchase option set on 33,500,000 European banknotes.

Lyon and Atletico have also agreed on bonuses for individual appearances in the amount of a maximum of 5,000,000 European banknotes, and in the event that Dembele signs a multi-year contract in Madrid, Lyon will receive 10 percent from the next transfer!

Dembele thus practically ended his stay in Lyon after two and a half years in which he scored 45 goals in 108 games. Of course, it is still possible for Dembele to return to the club that paid Celtic 22,000,000 euros in August 2018, but since it is a striker that Diego Simeone is most seriously counting on, it is very certain that together with Luis Suarez he will make an offensive tandem for the future.

Suarez-Dembele

Atletico practically changed the entire attacking line in six months. Alvaro Morata was transferred to Juventus on a loan with the right of buying, after which Luis Suarez was brought from Barcelona without compensation, while in the meantime their contract with Diego Costa was terminated, and Mousa Dembele will now take his place.

From before, there is the most expensive signing in the history of the club, Joao Felix, although the young Portuguese is still wanted in the right role ... Atletico has been measuring the situation on the market for a long time and looking for the right solution.

The first candidate for their attack was Arkadiusz Milik, but the club did not want to pay the amount between 15,000,000 and 20,000,000 euros, as much as Napoli asked for the freedom of the Polish striker who has not played competitive football for months but only trains with the rest of the team.

The options were Willian Jose from Sociedad and Raul de Tomas from Espanyol, but the choice fell on Dembele, whose playing qualities are much more in line with Cholo's football style. Dembele hopes to find the old form under Simeone's command.

In 670 minutes on the field, he scored only one goal, and with Rudi Garcia, he didn't play much because Ekambi got more space.
