Manchester United interested in Boubakary Soumare

Less than a year ago, Boubakary Soumare could have been the man to shock the world football market. On the last day of the transfer window, Newcastle offered 60,000,000 euros for midfielder Lille (of which 15,000,000 euros were bonuses).

Lille accepted an offer, but the player refused. Everything was there. Money, the challenge of playing in the Premier League, the prospect of one day moving to a stronger club ... Soumare shocked the leaders of both clubs by saying that he will not go to a club that is fighting for survival, no matter what money it is, he already wants a club with high ambitions that is fighting for trophies.

Steve Bruce and the people of Lille were amazed ... A year later, Soumare's dream could come true. According to the well-known insider, Mohamed Bouhafsi, Manchester United is now interested in Soumare. No concrete steps have been taken yet, except that United's scouts are delighted with the French midfielder.

The club from Old Trafford is slowly preparing a strategy for the attack on Soumare, and it is very likely that they will wait until the summer. Soumare then enters the final year of the contract and Lille will simply have to sell him.

Especially since the club from the north of France is in financial trouble. Lille has currently set the price at 35,000,000 euros, but it is unlikely that they will get that much money for a player who is entering the last year of his contract.

Milan was interested

Milan was also interested in Soumare this winter. More precisely, the Rossoneri have been interested since this summer, but he is expensive for them. Even if Lille reduced the requirements from the initial 35,000,000 euros, it would be expensive for the Rossoneri again because they can bring Soumare on loan with the option to buy him for between 15,000,000 and 20,000,000 euros.

Milan will be satisfied with an alternative in the form of Soualiho Meite from Turin, who can be brought on loan with the right of buying him for 8,000,000 euros. If he comes to Old Trafford, the French back midfielder will most likely replace the much more famous countryman Paul Pogba, whose days at United are over, which was also admitted by his agent Mino Raiola.

Pogba is the closest moving to Paris Saint-Germain next summer, although Juventus is also interested. Pogba did not do well in England and maybe that will be a good decision. It will be interesting to see if Soumare will have the same problem or will adapt much more easily
