Pep Guardiola's team managed to win against Burnley 3-1 and thus remain in the fight for the title. The Spanish expert is aware of how important this victory is for his team.

Guardiola and his team are fighting for the title. For now, their main competitor is Liverpool, who dominated Chelsea last night and won 4-1.

Guardiola has to be careful, given that Klopp's side really look fantastic at the moment.

At the end of the match with Burnley, the Spanish expert emphasized that his team gave their best and showed that they really have the qualities. They took advantage of their opponents' mistakes, were focused and deservedly won.

Guardiola did not forget to praise the opposing team, which looked compact in most of the match. Although Burnley is a team fighting for survival, they showed how competitive the Premier League is and that every opponent is dangerous.

“We did everything, we are humble enough to play the way you have to play.
I think we found the goals for the quality that we have, not because the game was under control so I think Burnley prepared really well.
The game was difficult, it was not easy for us, but yeah, three more points and onto the next.”

In order to be a team fighting for the Premier League title, it is essential that you have a strong bench in addition to the first XI. Manchester City certainly have that.

The fact that one of the best strikers in the world, Erling Haaland, was on the bench speaks volumes for that.

Julian Alvarez started the match as a striker, and showed that he deserved such a chance. The Argentine scored two great goals, and thus created even bigger dilemmas for Guardiola, who has to decide who will have the advantage: Alvarez or Erling Haaland. Pep knows the qualities of young Alvarez well.

“Julian is amazing so he’s an extraordinary player and many things help us.
Really good, so very pleased for his birthday, not just for the goals, the many things he does.”

Kevin de Bruyne returned a few weeks ago after missing most of the season. According to many, the Belgian is the best player of this team and the key to success.

He showed it in last night's match, where his team managed to score a goal after a set-piece. De Bruyne was again the main role.

After the end of the match, the Belgian confirmed that they had previously practiced set-pieces in training. Although De Bruyne was not in favor of such an option at the beginning, he felt that his teammate was opening up space for Alvarez, and he knew what he had to do.

This experienced player could be crucial in the upcoming matches, given that his absence could be felt in City's performances.

“Actually yesterday we worked on it. In the beginning I didn’t really want to do it, but then the guy who was with Julian, he moved to him a bit.
So he opened the space for Julian to go into so I didn’t even have to put it around, I just put it straight with the right speed and then Julian does the rest.
I think we practised it yesterday for Burnley but obviously it can work for other teams. Pep you can see is delighted with the staff because if you can pull it off, they’re happy. They give you the options.
When you pull it off, it’s a nice goal.”

Manchester City will have tough challenges in the upcoming matches, but considering the quality and strength of this team, nothing will be impossible. The most important thing for them is that they have the experience of winning the championship, and that they managed to save the players who could lead them to the trophy this year. Guardiola, also, as an experienced expert, will be important in City's campaign.

For now, their main competitors seem to be Arsenal and Liverpool, especially the second team. Mikel Arteta's team was close to winning the championship last season, but they lacked strength in important moments of the season, more precisely towards the end.

Arsenal has an imperative this season to correct the mistakes of the previous season and lift the trophy they are so eagerly waiting for.

Liverpool also has an imperative to win the championship. The fact that Jurgen Klopp will leave the team at the end of the season is one of the main reasons. It would be great to see the German expert lift the Premier League trophy. However, there are still a few months left. We will see who really has the capacity to make it a success.
