FIFA is moving some jobs to the USA from Switzerland, the 2026 World Cup will be fire

Every sport in order to be at the top level must be organized, someone who takes care of competitions, players' rights and other administrative duties in soccer is FIFA. Of course, soccer comes from Europe, so the seat of FIFE is located in Switzerland, at least that's how it's always been throughout history.
However, lately FIFA has been opening its headquarters in other countries that are not located in Europe. The World Cup in soccer awaits us in 2026 and the main host of the competition will be the USA. Of course, some matches will be played in Canada and Mexico, but most of them will be played in the USA.
The international soccer body (FIFA) is moving more than 100 of its jobs from its headquarters in Switzerland to Florida, where more people are working on the organization of the 2026 World Cup. FIFA informed staff today that its entire legal department and audit, compliance and risk management teams will relocate from Zurich to Miami.
"The move is planned to be fully operational in August 2024," Fifa told staff in an email seen by the Associated Press. The expanded men's World Cup with 48 teams in 2026 will be mainly hosted by the USA, with matches also played in Canada and Mexico.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said last year in Qatar that he expects to spend more time in the US in the future. It seems that FIFA wants to suddenly enter the USA market, they are aware that it is a big country with many inhabitants, and soccer has never been as popular in the USA as it has been in the past 10 years.
Let's remember that, according to many, the best soccer player of all time, Lionel Messi, plays in the USA in their MLS league.
The USA pours a lot of money into soccer, the sport has experienced a great expansion
The USA will also host an expanded 32-team club championship from June to July 2025.
Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea have already qualified as recent European champions, while Flamengo and Palmeiras will come from Brazil. FIFA's decision to move its legal department seems surprising given that Switzerland is a center for global sports law and that hundreds of Fifa cases, including contract disputes, plus some disciplinary and ethical cases are heard each year at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.
FIFA has already opened a base in Paris in 2021 to liaise with member associations in Europe and Africa, and a regional office in Singapore is being prepared. It remains to be seen how this will all go, but given that we know how hard-working the Americans are, we hope that this will be the best world cup ever.
There is already a lot of feeling that the USA is entering a lot of soccer, so who knows, maybe they will use their home field and come to the very end of the competition. We have to wait for another year and we hope that this will be a world cup that will be remembered.
