11 staff members of the world champion Spanish women's soccer team have resigned. Montse Tomé, one of the staff members, wrote on her official X profile: "It's over. Football is football and I wish we could talk about what we have achieved." FIFA suspended Spanish soccer federation president Luis Rubiales
As we said you in the our previous article, FIFA suspended Spanish soccer federation president Luis Rubiales for 90 days after he non-consensual kiss given to Spanish soccer player Jenni Hermoso, immediately after Spain's triumph in the FIFA Women's Soccer World Cup.
Rubiales has been suspended pending the disciplinary proceedings opened against him, while, during an extraordinary meeting, he refused to resign despite pressure from the Spanish government, soccer associations and fans.
In a note from FIFA, we can read: "President of the FIFA Disciplinary Commission, Jorge Ivan Palacio, making use of the powers granted by Article 51 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code. Palacio, in order to preserve the rights of the player of the Spanish international Jennifer Hermoso and the regularity of the proceedings before the Commission, has issued two additional directives ordering Rubiales and the Spanish Soccer Federation and its representatives to refrain from contacting Hermoso.
Specifying that the Commission will not provide further information on the disciplinary proceedings until a final decision has been taken, FIFA reaffirms its absolute commitment to respecting the integrity of all persons and condemns any contrary behavior with the utmost vigor."
