Considering what we are used to in previous seasons, it can be said that Manchester United is not particularly active in the summer market. Mason Mount has arrived at the club for now, and Andre Onana's arrival is almost a done deal.
However, the fans are in fear for the next season, considering that they lack a striker who could decide the matches. United has had problems with strikers for a few seasons now, who are not efficient enough. The legend of this team, Rio Ferdinand, revealed in an interview with TNT Sports who his 'dream signing' is.
"It's been well documented that Manchester United need a No. 9. The striker they had at the club last season [Wout Weghorst] did not score a single goal," he said.
"Harry Kane would be my dream signing. Victor Osimhen would be a great addition, too.
But if I'm Erik ten Hag, I'd go for Kane because he will deliver immediate goals."
Rio Ferdinand and Harry Kane
Ferdinand believes that Harry Kane's experience can be a key factor.
"There will be no bedding in period, he knows the Premier League inside out so there will be no acclimatisation issues.
That's what Manchester United need right now and that's what Ten Hag needs." The former United defender emphasizes that consistency will be what the team from Old Trafford needs.
"Manchester United have to look to improve again off the back of last season," he said.
"Consistency is going to be key and maintaining confidence throughout the campaign.
There will be blips, but they need to make sure those blips do not last long if they are going to push Manchester City closer.
A trophy is a must.
You would like to think they can improve on the League Cup and target the FA Cup or even the Champions League!"
