Jose Mourinho reacts to criticism regarding his 'defensive' style

Jose Mourinho is not particularly worried about the criticism from many regarding his style of play. Many believe that the Portuguese will set up a 'bunker' in the Europa League final. When asked by a reporter before the final, the Portuguese emphasized that he is not too worried about criticism regarding his style of play.

His goal is to win the competition. “I don’t care. What can I do? Fight everyone? I cannot do it. I work hard, I try my best.
That’s my education. That’s what I do every day. My history is there, no-one can [dis]believe.
It’s also my philosophy of life.

It's not ‘I want this and this’. We have a final on Wednesday and I’m going to do everything I can to try and win it”. - Jose Mourinho said, as quoted by eurosport.com

Jose Mourinho and Europa Conference League

At one point, Mourinho joked and recalled an interesting detail before last year's final of the Europa Conference League.

"Last season I had to explain to the club what a UEFA media day was because they didn’t know. Now, it’s the second time for them, and it looks like it’s normal to have it. It's not normal to have it, at all." Mourinho arrived at AS Roma with the aim of making them a respectable club that can fight for trophies.

The Portuguese is doing a great job, and he will have a great chance to win 2 European trophies in 2 years. "I came to Rome with this objective to try to develop them as a club and reach the special moments that define the history of a club.

There are clubs where a final is just one more final. For Roma, it’s not that, it’s very special.
The only thing I know is that I work so hard. I cannot complain about the people around me because with them, it’s the same thing."
