Mathias Pogba, brother of Juventus star and French national team Paul Pogba, ended up under investigation and in custody along with four other people. Mathias Pogba is believed to be a prime suspect in extorting his brother Paul.
Mathias, who remains in prison, is accused of extortion in an organized gang and criminal association. Mathias denied any involvement before investigators, but subsequent interrogations of the other four suspects prompted the investigators to bring Paul's brother before the judge to formally complete the charges against him and order his detention.
lawyer Yassine Bouzrou ahead of the appeal, explained: "Justice clears him of the most serious charge, we will challenge the judge's decision so that he is free as quickly as possible."
Paul Pogba's brother in jail for extortion of the French champion
The first step in a procedure that may or may not lead to an indictment.
As for Paul's kidnapping in March in an apartment on the outskirts of Paris, the Juventus brother has an alibi and is considered by investigators only as an assisted witness. However, after a first payment of 100 thousand euros, the group would return to be threatening both in Manchester and in Turin.
Mathias would have been identified by the same Juventus midfielder among those who threatened him again in July at the Juventus training center. The Pogba family feud seems to have reached a favorable point for Paul, after the complaints of the Juventus soccer player and his agent, Rafaela Pimenta.
With the preliminary investigation concluded, the judge formally indicted and ordered the custody of Mathias and four other individuals.
