Casemiro: My wife said I look like an 18-year-old kid who is super excited

Casemiro was officially announced as a new Manchester United player 2 days ago. The Brazilian arrived in Manchester already on the day of the Liverpool match and could see his team's great game. Before arriving in Manchester, Casemiro thanked Real Madrid for everything at his farewell.

“I’d like to thank you with all my heart,” Casemiro said. “When my wife and I arrived here, we didn’t know anyone, it was a new country for us. We wanted to build our life here and our future, and our family.

I’ve won a lot of titles here but obviously without my mum, brothers, my wife and my beautiful children, it wouldn’t have been possible. Without the club as well, and everyone who is here today. I want to make it clear one day that I will come back here to show how special everyone is here to me and to help this club with anything”.

I’m excited to continue to develop my career in a great club like Man United. This club [Real Madrid] will always be great in the future. Thank you so much for everything. Hala Madrid”.

Upon his arrival at Manchester United, Casemiro confirmed that he was excited about playing at such an elite club.

“This change is my big challenge now; I spoke to my wife just three days ago and my wife said I look like an 18-year-old kid who is super excited about his new project, and I do feel so excited about playing in the Premier League,” said Casemiro.

“If I could, I would play today for United against Liverpool. I’m really excited, it’s a club with great history, I will have to work hard to make a name for myself because there, I have won nothing yet”.

Erik ten Hag praised his new signing after the match with Liverpool. "We were talking about leadership, today we had leadership on the pitch, he is one as well," Ten Hag told Sky Sports. "He knows the game, he knows how to win, in his career he has won so many trophies and it is important to have that in the team.

[Raphael] Varane has it, Casemiro is another one, [Cristiano] Ronaldo has it, so you need some and it is like guidance for young players who didn't achieve now the trophies because that is what we want to achieve, so I am hoping their presence will be a huge stimulation for the rest."
