Roman Josi praised by Roger Federer!

Roger Federer is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of any era, if not the best one. The Swiss Maestro is a fan of many other disciplines, having often paid homage to the best athletes in the world. The last who recived his praises was his countryman NHL player Roman Josi.

Josi received several congratulatory messages from his teammates, family and friends during a mini-event at Bridgestone Arena, where Mayor John Cooper proclaimed September 23rd as Roman Josi Day. The captain of the Nashville Predators was genuinely surprised by hearing the message from a legend like Federer.

Josi, who was awarded the award for best defender of the season, thus became the first Swiss to achieve one of the most prestigious ice hockey renaissance. Josi won the prestigious Norris Trophy for being the best defender of the NHL in the 2019-2020 season.

Roger Federer's congratulatory message to Roman Josi

Roman Josi is the captain of the NHL Nashville Predators and in the last season he showed great performances especially in defense that allowed him to win the illustrious Norris Trophy award.

The mayor of Nashville declared 23/09/2020 as the day dedicated to this well-known athlete and during the celebrations they sent Josi a video message from his idol, the tennis champion Roger Federer.

The former world number 1 sent this video message with the following statements: "I am Roger Federer.

I wanted to congratulate Roman Josi on winning the Norris Trophy, the trophy that rewards the best defensive player in the NHL. I am a huge hockey fan and I wanted to send you my compliments from Switzerland. It is also a great satisfaction because you are the first Swiss to win this trophy.

" Roman Josi is a big fan of Roger Federer and in the video message Roger also defined himself as Roman's biggest fan: "I know Roman has been a big fan of mine for a long time, I've known him for 10 years.

Today I am your then big fan, I am very happy for you and proud for your work "Federer and Josi are two of the greatest sportsmen in the world in Switzerland. Roger is not the only tennis player who is passionate about ice hockey but also the Canadian Denis Shapovalov has repeatedly reminded him to follow this sport a lot.
