The Dallas Stars achieved a 4-3 victory against the Seattle Kraken, with Thomas Harley scoring the game-winning goal 2:16 into overtime.  Dallas forward Joe Pavelski believes that this match is the best indicator that it is necessary to be patient and wait for your chance. His team's patience and determination paid off in the end, securing their win. At first, it seemed Dallas would easily take the victory, but they made things tougher for themselves..

“There’s a certain level of patience that has to happen. Puck possession, you can’t force things. Everyone is man-on-man, everyone’s playing somewhat soft not to give up anything.

You kind of have to wait for a break, an odd-number rush. You kind of see it’s a broken play there in the corner, a stick battle won back. All of a sudden, it’s a quick 2-on-1 and we find ourselves on the inside and the game’s over.”-Dallas forward Joe Pavelski said, as quoted by NHL!

Peter DeBoer reacts

Dallas coach Peter DeBoer was satisfied with his team's performance. At one point, it was noticeable that his team was feeling tired. However, they did not give up for a single moment, and in the end, they were rewarded with victory.

“I thought we played a good game. Three in four nights, we ran out of a little bit of gas there in the third. Did a lot of good things tonight, [Wedgewood] was good again. I think if we cash in on the power play (0-for-4), we probably aren’t in overtime. In the third, we had some opportunities to really put the game away, but credit to their penalty kill, too. They did a good job.”-Dallas coach Peter DeBoer.

Tomas Tatar was one of the best individuals with one goal and an assist. Considering his mentality, he wants to take only positive things from this match. It was obvious that his team was giving their best, but it was not enough to win.

“I think it’s a big point for us. We had a few breakdowns which cost us a few goals, but then we battled back and I think we played well. I think we deserved the point. In overtime we hit the post, that’s how thin is the line between winning and losing. We just have to take the positive from this game and play like that in the next one.”-Tatar said.
