Pierre-Luc Dubois: A New Chapter Begins with the Los Angeles Kings

Pierre-Luc Dubois, a name that stirs up a mixture of intrigue and controversy in the hockey world, is ready to embark on a new journey in his career. His history of forcing two trades in a span of just six years might have tinted his reputation, but he is intent on reshaping this image as he joins the Los Angeles Kings with a hard-earned, eight-year contract.

A Fresh Start in Los Angeles

On Monday, Dubois expressed his excitement and relief about this new chapter of his career. "I'm just extremely happy to be here and to be here for a long time, and just show really who I really am and not just an image of what people think," he stated, eager to define himself beyond the narratives that currently surround him.

He acknowledges that his decision to demand a trade out of Columbus and subsequent issues in Winnipeg have painted a particular picture of him in the public eye. "Everybody's entitled to their own opinion," Dubois said, defending his decisions. "But at the end of the day, it's my life.

I have to do what I think is right."

Building on a Stellar Track Record

Dubois arrives at the Kings with an impressive track record. He set career highs last season with 63 points and 36 assists, marking the fourth time he'd reached a minimum of 20 goals in a season.

Inspired by teammates such as Kings center Anze Kopitar, Dubois hopes to amplify his contributions in every aspect of the game. "I'd love to do a bit of everything more, I think that's the goal," he said. He sees himself scoring goals to help his team win, blocking shots, and winning faceoffs - a multifaceted approach that will undoubtedly bolster the Kings' lineup.

Embracing Authenticity

Dubois is looking forward to his time with the Kings as an opportunity to be seen for who he really is, rather than a misinterpretation often portrayed. "I think I'm misunderstood at times, but I think a lot of people don't really know me," he admitted.

He views this fresh start with the Kings as a chance to be himself, without any pressure to prove anything to anyone. "Now it'll be a fun opportunity for me to just be who I am. Not show anybody, not prove to anybody, but just fully be me." Pierre-Luc Dubois is embarking on a new journey with the Los Angeles Kings, one that is filled with opportunities and expectations.

Only time will tell how this chapter unfolds, but one thing is clear: Dubois is keen to rewrite his narrative and make a mark on his new team.
