Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady sees similarities between NFL legend Randy Moss and his current teammate Mike Evans. Moss, who played with Brady for the New England Patriots, is considered as one of the greatest wide receivers in NFL history, while Evans has had a strong start to his NFL career.
Moss and Evans are the only receivers in NFL history to have posted at least 1,000 receiving yards in each of their first six seasons in the NFL. "From a physical standpoint, both big bodies and big catch radiuses; great body control; great understanding of the game, feel, instincts,” Brady said, per ESPN.
“Randy’s a Hall of Famer; I think Mike’s gonna be, obviously, one too”.
Brady loves being on the field with Evans
Brady admits the more time goes the chemistry between him and Evans will progress but the most important thing is that the two have a great admiration for each other.
"It’s been amazing to play with him,” Brady said of Evans. “I love playing with Mike; he’s been just spectacular from the day I met him, and admired him from afar for a long time, and just blessed to play with him”.
"I think it’s pretty natural -- the more you talk, the more you communicate, the more you practice, play together -- the situations come up, and then so much is nonverbal communication: What did you see, what did I see ...
And as long as we both see it the same way, that’s important,” Brady said. “It’s hard if one -- well, I saw this or I saw this -- and then mistakes happen”. Before the season started, Evans spoke about how excited he was to work with Brady as he hoped the six-time Super Bowl champion would help him get better as a player.
"He's the GOAT, on and off the field. It's crazy. He's a superstar -- the most accomplished player in our game in history, and he's just like everybody else," Evans said of Brady over a month ago. "He just works extremely hard, he's always taking care of his body.
"He loves his family. He loves family time. He's just cool. He's a real down-to-earth guy. "He's already up there as one of my favorite teammates, and we've only had a few practices together. So that says a lot. "I'm learning a lot from him and hopefully we can tear it up this year."
