Tom Brady's ex-girlfriend and baby mama Bridget Moynahan was among excited fans that were happy about Brady's return to football. On Sunday, 44-year-old Brady announced he would be coming out of retirement and playing his 23rd season in the NFL.
Brady retired on February 1 and came out of retirement ust 40 days later. “These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now,” Brady wrote.
“I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG”.
Moynahan's reaction to Brady coming out of retirement
Brady and Moynahan dated in the past and they share a 14-year-old son Jack.
“Thank God,” Moynahan tweeted. “I had no idea what I was going to do with my Sundays. Congratulations [Tom Brady], so proud of you!”
Moynahan wasn't the only excited about Brady's return as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were even more excited “We are thrilled that Tom has decided to come back this season,” Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht.
Thank God, I had no idea what I was going to do with my Sundays.
“We said we would leave all options open for him should he reconsider his retirement and today’s announcement is something we have been preparing for in recent days. Bruce and I have had plenty of conversations with Tom recently that led us to believe there was a realistic chance he would want to come back.
Tom is the greatest quarterback of all time who is still playing at an elite level. With this decision now made, we will continue to move forward with our offseason plans to reload this roster for another championship run."
Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians, who said two weeks ago Brady pretty much slammed the door on a potential comeback, was "ecstatic" about Brady's return. “Tom Brady loves to play football as much as anyone I have ever been around.
As Tom said, his place right now is on the football field. He is still playing at a championship level and was as productive as anyone in the league last season. We are ecstatic that he decided to continue playing and working toward winning another championship,” Arians said.
The Buccaneers' chances of winning the Super Bowl next season increased massively after Brady announced his return.
