In a Thanksgiving Day spectacle, the Dallas Cowboys, led by a stellar performance from Dak Prescott and a record-setting moment from DaRon Bland, overwhelmed the Washington Commanders with a 45-10 victory at their home in Arlington, Texas.

This triumph marks Dallas' impressive stride towards securing their third consecutive playoff spot, standing proud with an 8-3 record. Prescott's masterful control of the game was evident as he completed 22 of 32 passes, racking up 331 yards and delivering four touchdown passes without a single interception.

His impeccable record against NFC East rival Washington further solidified, maintaining a flawless 6-0 home record with 17 touchdowns and no interceptions. The game's highlight came from Bland, who etched his name in NFL history with a record fifth pick-6 of the season.

His remarkable 63-yard interception return, evading three Washington players, including quarterback Sam Howell, was a testament to Dallas' dominance despite being a late addition to the already sealed victory. Bland now stands alongside former record-holders Eric Allen, Jim Kearney, and Ken Houston.

Despite Howell's efforts, completing 28 of 44 passes for 300 yards, his lone interception and the team's only touchdown couldn't salvage the day for Washington (4-8), which has been on a downhill slope, losing eight of its last ten games.

Cowboys' Offensive Surge

The Cowboys demonstrated their offensive prowess right from the start. After a brief hiccup, Prescott led the team to consecutive touchdown drives. Rico Dowdle's impressive 15-yard touchdown reception, aided by Zack Martin's block, set the tone.

Brandin Cooks' 31-yard touchdown catch further extended the lead, painting a stark contrast to Washington's struggle, with their defense conceding more points than any other NFL team this season. The second half of the game witnessed the Cowboys consolidating their lead, courtesy of Brandon Aubrey's 52-yard field goal and Prescott's continued excellence, connecting with CeeDee Lamb and KaVontae Turpin for touchdowns.

The Dallas defense, relentless in their pursuit, paved the way for these scores with critical plays like Johnathan Hankins' sack on Howell.
