Russell Wilson is optimistic the Denver Broncos can end their losing streak against the Kansas City Chiefs and he has a plan of how the Broncos can upset the Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs on Thursday Night Football. In Week 6's Thursday Night Football matchup, the Chiefs are hosting the Broncos.

When the Chiefs meet the Broncos, they will be aiming for their 16th consecutive win against Denver. The last Broncos' win over the Chiefs came during their Super Bowl-winning season in 2015, when Peyton Manning was still their quarterback.

"The important thing is that we've got to create a new history. We have to be able to do that with one play at a time, one moment at a time, one game at a time. … Every game has a history of its own, and we've got to be focused on this one and go win this game," Wilson said, via the Broncos website.

Going into the game, the Chiefs hold the top position of the AFC West with a 4-1 record, while the Broncos sit last with a 1-4 record.

However, Wilson believes the Broncos can go on the road and beat the highly-favored Chiefs. "We've got to come in the game being physical. We've got to be able to capitalize on our opportunities when they do match up and man up and when it's there take it — take the easy ones, too.

And just, don't blink. It's going to be a game that's going to go back and forth and we've got to be the ones who end up on top," Wilson said.

Also, Wilson believes that not committing penalties and silly mistakes could be the key to beating the Chiefs.

"We've got to play great football. We've got to play clean, we've got to be focused on this year, we've got to be focused on this moment. … I think the best thing we can do is stay poised," Wilson said. It remains to be seen if Wilson can indeed lead the Broncos to a win over the Chiefs this Thursday.
