Dallas Cowboys' star linebacker Micah Parsons finds himself at the center of an NFL controversy after lauding San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy. The 49ers' QB, who was quite the revelation last season, has become the talk of the town with football aficionados and analysts dissecting his every move.

During a recent episode of his podcast, The Edge with Micah Parsons, the Cowboys' linebacker expressed his admiration for Purdy, even going so far as to rank him among the top 15 quarterbacks in the league.

Bayless Challenges Parsons' Praise

However, this nod of approval from Parsons didn't sit well with noted NFL journalist and avid Cowboys enthusiast, Skip Bayless.

On his popular show, Undisputed, Bayless voiced his displeasure, stating, “Micah Parsons' biggest yearly challenge is the San Francisco 49ers. This is the same team that sent the Cowboys packing two consecutive years, with Brock Purdy playing a pivotal role just last year." Bayless reminisced about the previous year's defeat, underscoring it with the sting of Brock Purdy's involvement.

Bayless emphasized that the true embodiment of the Cowboys spirit, especially with the star jersey, is quarterback Dak Prescott, a figure constantly under the spotlight in Texas. He added, "There’s an unwritten locker room code.

You simply don't extol the virtues of your fiercest rival's QB. Dak Prescott wouldn't appreciate it, and I second that." Brock Purdy, however, seems unfazed by all the chatter. Rising from the shadows after being the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft — colloquially known as Mr.

Irrelevant — Purdy's journey to the NFL's upper echelons has been nothing short of meteoric. He spearheaded the 49ers' ten-game winning streak, deftly maneuvering them to a division title and a prime spot in the NFC Championship Game.

Historically, he's among a mere handful of rookie QBs to take their team to such heights. The crescendo of Purdy's inaugural year was the masterful defeat of Tom Brady's Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a resounding 35-7 triumph on December 11. Reacting to his performance, the 49ers humorously and aptly rechristened him ‘Mr. Relevant’.
