Odell Beckham Jr. admits he is ecstatic to play again as he revealed "this whole thing feels like a reset for me." After tearing his ACL during the Super Bowl LVI in 2022 February, Beckham missed the entire 2022 season. This Sunday, 30-year-old Beckham will play an NFL game for the first time in a year and a half when his Baltimore Ravens take on the Houston Texans.
“It’s like over 450 days and counting. I don’t know the exact days, but it’s been a long time. It’s been a long time in my mind; it’s been a long time in reality," Beckham said, via Pro Football Talk.
Beckham: I'm excited and grateful to be back
When Beckham steps on the field this week, he admits he is going to probably feel some emotions. However, Beckham is hoping he will be able to control the emotional part and deliver a good performance in his first game back.
“I’ve just been trying to pretend like it’s not here for the whole training camp and just go about it and be grateful to be back out there, but I’m excited. I don’t know what emotions will be running through me.
I know I’ll be excited to play football again. I’m just ready to get there. I’m trying to take it a day at a time and ease my way into it," Beckham said. Ahead of his first game back, Beckham indicated this may feel like his first-ever NFL game.
“The whole thing feels like a reset for me. There have been a lot of déjà vu moments of little things that have happened that just kind of feel reminiscent of my rookie year in a sense — just the feeling of the excitement that I have to play football and just a new opportunity, a new life. So, I don’t know what to expect, but I’m excited," Beckham said.
