Aaron Rodgers reveals how he really feels about Jets being picked for Hard Knocks

Aaron Rodgers admits he is not particularly happy or excited about the New York Jets being the pick for this year's Hard Knocks edition. What was speculated for quite some time, became a reality this week when it was officially confirmed that the Jets would be the team featured in HBO's Hard Knocks.

During training camp, HBO's crews will be around the Jets and filming behind the scenes. "They forced it down our throats and we have to deal with it," Rodgers told KPIX. The Jets haven't made the playoffs in 12 years but this offseason they made a major move in trading for Rodgers.

After Rodgers agreed to come to New York, several of his former Green Bay Packers teammates followed him in signing with the Jets. "I understand the appeal with us. Obviously, there are a lot of eyes on me, a lot of eyes on our team, a lot of expectations for our squad," Rodgers said.

Rodgers doesn't sound happy about the Jets being on the Hard Knocks

Last month, Jets head coach Robert Saleh made it pretty clear the Jets would prefer not to be on the Hard Knocks.

But since the Jets didn't make the playoffs last year, they couldn't really dictate whether or not to be selected for the Hard Knocks. Meanwhile, NFL fans will have a chance to see the Jets' preparation for the 2023 season.

This offseason, head coach Saleh declared the Jets a Super Bowl contender with Rodgers. "My opinion, I think 32 teams -- 32 coaches -- stand in front of their teams every year and talk about winning a championship, and then realistically, there's maybe six or eight teams that have an actual chance to do it.

And I do think we are one of those teams. But none of it matters unless we take care of (business) today," Saleh said.
