Josh Allen insists everything is fine with Stefon Diggs as the Buffalo Bills quarterback is blaming the media for blowing the situation with the star wide receiver out of proportion. After Diggs was a no-show up in the Bills' first practice, Bills head coach Sean McDermott said he was very concerned.
Diggs' absence and McDermott's comments led to many speculations regarding how Diggs actually feels in Buffalo and his situation with the Bills. “I love him. That’s my guy. The media has blown this so far out of proportion.
We are in minicamp. We’re not playing a game for four months. He doesn’t show up for one day, he’s still there, coach asked him to go home, they’re in talks, they’re trying to resolve some things.
They’re still talking about it. Let it go. There’s no reason to continue talking about it," Allen said on Bussin' With The Boys podcast.
Is everything OK between Allen, Diggs?
In the fourth quarter of a very disappointing 27-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the playoffs, Diggs was seen yelling at Allen.
When Diggs didn't show up for the first practice, some started speculating whether Allen had something to do with the wide receiver's apparent unhappiness. Recently, former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III said Diggs' issue with the Bills was Allen.
"Him and Josh Allen seemed to have a bromance rolling, it felt like for years there, until there was a problem with their game against the Bengals in the playoffs. So, I think it's clear, this is a personal thing between Josh and Diggs.
And they have to get their partnership back on the field, and that's part of playing quarterback. I think Josh Allen's running into that right now. Everything is fine, until it's not fine in a relationship when it comes to a quarterback and a wide receiver like Diggs.
So Josh has to manage that relationship the right way and I think he's the only one that can rectify," Griffin said during a conversation with Rich Eisen 10 days ago.
