New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner has no doubt that the Jets will easily make the playoffs now that Aaron Rodgers is their starting quarterback. This week, the Jets and Green Bay Packers finally agreed on a trade compensation for Rodgers.
The Jets haven't made the playoffs in 12 years - that is currently the longest playoff drought in all American sports. “Oh yeah, most definitely, we was a playoff team last year. But with A-Rod joining, and a few more new pieces, that just makes it, you know, easy," Gardner said on The Ringer’s Slow News Day with Kevin Clark.

Gardner confident Rodgers will lead the Jets to the playoffs
The Jets felt they had a pretty complete team on all sides in 2022 but their quarterbacks just weren't delivering. Because of that, the Jets entered this offseason with the goal of acquiring a proven veteran quarterback.
When Rodgers became available, the Jets went all in on the former NFL MVP. The Jets and Packers started their negotiations in mid-March but agreed on a trade compensation for Rodgers 40 days later. Jets general manager Joe Douglas couldn't hide his happiness after the Jets finally landed Rodgers.
“Obviously, Aaron’s one of the best quarterbacks to ever play this game. To have an opportunity to add a player of that caliber, you’re always going to look into it and how it fits within our culture, within our team.
Obviously, it goes back something I said to you guys in Phoenix [at the NFL owners’ meetings], it’s a real credit to Robert [Saleh] and his staff and what he’s been able to implement with our players and with everybody here that a player of Aaron’s caliber would even want to come here. We’re all excited to add someone of his character and his ability," Douglas said.
