Odell Beckham Jr. has told Lamar Jackson very directly that he wants him to be his quarterback in 2023. This week, Beckham officially signed a contract with the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens have a new star wide receiver but there are still question marks regarding Jackson's availability in 2023.

Jackson hasn't gotten the multiyear deal he is seeking and last month he requested a trade from the Ravens. But the Ravens haven't shown a willingness to trade Jackson, instead saying they still want him. “Lamar, if you’re watching, I would love to get to work with you,” Beckham told Jackson, via Pro Football Talk.

Beckham: The goal is to play with Jackson

“The goal is to come here and have that possibility to play with him. I’m excited about that opportunity. My thoughts would be that he would be here. I know that these two [General Manager Eric DeCosta and Head Coach John Harbaugh] want him to be here.

At the end of the day, that’s going to be up to them," Beckham added. Meanwhile, Beckham ditched the New York Jets to sign with the Ravens. Some were surprised after seeing that Beckham was given a contract that could pay him up to $18 million in 2023.

But the Ravens insist Beckham's knee is fine despite the star wide receiver coming off a torn ACL injury. “We saw everything we needed to see, knowing that it’s going to just improve. When a guy has a serious injury, in general, it only gets better.

It may take time. Sometimes it takes longer, but it only gets better. What we saw was extremely encouraging and I can’t wait to see the progression from March to April to May to September. That’s probably the thing that we’re most excited about.

We’re getting somebody who is ready to explode again. and he’s in the right environment with the right quarterback, with the right team, in the right city. It’s the perfect player at the perfect time," DeCosta said.
