Patrick Mahomes: 'Great coach' Eric Bieniemy will continue proving doubters wrong
by | VIEW 123
Patrick Mahomes described Eric Bieniemy as a great man and coach as he is confident his former offensive coordinator "will continue to prove the doubters wrong." After five years as the Kansas City Chiefs' offensive coordinator, Bieniemy accepted to become the new Washington Commanders' offensive coordinator.
In recent days, former Chiefs running back LeSean McCoy criticized Bieniemy. In his comments, McCoy suggested Bieniemy shouldn't be given that much credit for the Chiefs' success and also added that it shouldn't be surprising that no team picked him for the head coaching position.
"There should be no questions on how great of a man/coach Coach Bienemy is. His leadership has a direct impact on the player/person i am today! 10+ years learning under one of the greatest coaches of all time, and I cannot wait for him to continue to prove doubters wrong!" Mahomes wrote on Twitter.

Mahomes rooting for Bieniemy
During his introductory press conference with the Commanders, Bieniemy insisted for now he is just focused on doing his best as the Commanders' offensive coordinator.
"Being a head coach right now is not in my thought process. I'm focusing on being the best coach that I can be today. I live in the moment. I gotta be where my feet are -- and they are planted right here," Bieniemy said, per CBS Sports.
Now that Bieniemy is an offensive coordinator with a different team, he has a chance to prove that he can coach well outside Kansas City. "I gotta make sure I'm putting these guys in the best situation to be the most explosive, the most dynamic, and most importantly -- the best opportunity to be successful.
When it's all said and done with, we're gonna play hard, we're gonna play fast. We're gonna play hard and we're gonna have a sense of purpose in everything that we do. The X's and O's will take care of itself," Bieniemy added.
