Tiki Barber: New York might not be place for 'sensitive' Aaron Rodgers

New York Giants legend Tiki Barber believes New York might not be the place for Aaron Rodgers to come and play football because he is sensitive and would probably struggle with the media scrutiny in the Big Apple. Rodgers, who is planning to have "a four-day darkness retreat" before making the decision on his future, is rumored to be someone who could play for the New York Jets in 2023.

This week, Rodgers called out NFL insiders Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport over what he called an inaccurate report. Barber, who played 10 seasons for the Giants, thinks Rodgers looks like someone who couldn't deal with the New York media scrutiny.

"It just made me start to realize that if he is that sensitive, he gets upset that people, reporters, opinion makers, influencers, whoever, wanna talk about him, he is going to struggle in New York. I don't know if it's the right fit for him.

I don't know if I want him in New York if this is going to be his reaction to things that don't matter," Barber said on WFAN in New York, per TMZ Sports.

Barber to Rodgers: People are going to talk about you

"If Aaron Rodgers doesn't want people talking about him.

He needs to stop talking! We're gonna talk about it. you have to. It's our job to and for him to get offended by that, he's not gonna handle the intensity of the New York mediascape," Barber added. This season, the Jets had Zach Wilson as their starting quarterback at the start of the year.

Since Wilson was mightily struggling with his game, the Jets benched him for Mike White. The Jets looked a bit better with White as their starting quarterback but it wasn't something that impressive. Since it seems that Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are heading toward a split, the Jets have been mentioned as one of the teams that could trade for the former NFL MVP.
