Tom Brady says he hopes Aaron Rodgers decides to continue his career. Rodgers, 39, is currently taking his time to decide his next move. Rodgers also thought about retiring in the previous two offseasons but ultimately decided to continue his career.
Brady, who announced his retirement from football on February 1st, calls Rodgers an all-time great and that's why he would like to see him play a bit more. “You know what, I hope he doesn’t retire. Because like I said, I think the league needs good quarterbacks and he’s one of the greats.
So if he retires it’ll be a sad day for the league," Brady said on his Let's Go! podcast, per Pro Football Talk.
Brady on Rodgers' 'four-day darkness retreat'
Recently, Rodgers revealed his plans to take "a four-day darkness retreat" while deciding his next move.
Rodgers found himself on the receiving end of some jokes after making those comments but Brady says he understands what the 39-year-old was trying to say. “He’s an incredible player and everyone has their different processes they go through.
And you know what, I think we all need to get off our phone a little bit more. I think we all need to get away from the TV a little bit more. I think we all need a little more nature and a little more silence and a little more peace.
And however he’s going about it, good for him," Brady said on his Let's Go! podcast, per Pro Football Talk. In the last two offseasons, Rodgers took some time to decide his next move but both times decided to continue his career and stay with the Green Bay Packers.
This time, there again three scenarios mentioned regarding Rodgers - he could retire, return to the Packers or play for another team in 2023. It remains to be seen what will happen with Rodgers' NFL future.
